Four Pines

About this project

Four Pines is a 9,000 sq foot residence just steps away from the world-famous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in a neighborhood with flat, grassy sites with meandering creeks and expansive views of the Teton Mountain Range. The clients, part-time residents wanted a contemporary base camp for their various outdoor pursuits, predominantly downhill skiing. The palette is simple and refined. The cool industrial elements; blackened steel, copper panels, and laminated tempered glass are softened using earthen materials; plain sawn walnut, quartz stone, peregrine limestone, oak flooring, clear vertical grain cedar, and hemlock and p-type chief cliff stone.

At all elevations, floor-to-ceiling windows and doors establish a connection to the outdoors. Natural light spills into the large windows of each room illuminating the comfortable living spaces. The scale of the rooms coupled with fine line details integrating dark walnut millwork, glass, steel, and natural stone gave the project numerous points of interest throughout. Unique design features include the structural glass staircase, large cabinetry pocket doors, and progressive and wood vanity details.
