OSM is proud to have been involved in the creation of Tippet Rise Art Center as it opened to the public on June 17th, 2016. Located on a 10,260-acre working ranch outside Fishtail, Montana, Tippet Rise celebrates the union of art, music, architecture and nature within the shadow of the Beartooth mountain range.
Founded by life-long philanthropists and artists Cathy and Peter Halstead, Tippet Rise features a number of large-scale sculptures spread throughout the property, a music barn & visitor center, along with an acoustic performance shell and artist residences. Included in the sculptures are three permanent commissioned structures by Ensamble Studio (led by Antón García-Abril and Débora Mesa) and constructed by OSM. These massive concrete structures include the 98-foot-long, 16-foot-tall Domo, the 26-foot tall Inverted Portal, and the similarly designed 25-foot-tall Beartooth Portal.
To plan your visit, reservations are encouraged online due to limited attendance, although admission is free. Tippet Rise is open to the public Fridays through Sundays during the summer from 10am-6pm. The center encourages visitors to plan to spend at least a couple of hours to half a day on the property and to also consider returning over multiple days in order to fully explore everything it has to offer.
